What's the difference between PADI, NAUI, and SDI"Regardless of which diving agency you take courses from, at the most basic level, they are held to the same standards. Some agencies may offer skills taught in a different order- some add or omit certain skills, however each one will properly prepare you to be a capable open water diver. Scuba diving has been very well established for decades now. We’ve gotten pretty good at it and have standardized many lessons. Whether you’re taking a PADI, NAUI or an SDI course, or you live in the US or somewhere else, you’ll learn the same theory, use the same equipment, and perhaps see similar marine life (depending on where you live in the world). What’s more important is choosing the right dive center and instructor. The lessons taught will be the same, but who teaches the lesson and how it is taught will make a world of a difference. You want your early scuba knowledge to be solid, because it is the foundation on which all further knowledge will be built on.
